My focus on individual counseling provides an opportunity to receive support and insight during the challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help one deal with personal issues such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, illness, relationship challenges and career changes.
My clientele include CEOs, entertainment professionals, authors, athletes and those in medical and technical professions. I work one-on-one to drive behavioral change with increased emotional intelligence.
Trauma is tricky. Trauma ranges from overt abuse to very subtle repeated damage. Most people think of an event as being traumatizing. However, trauma is not defined by an event, but rather the felt experience of the event. I work with adults traumatized as children and adult children of alcoholics/ dysfunctional families to regain a sense of control over their lives, and challenge limiting thought patterns. This type of work can be done through a modality called Trauma Focused CBT
As people wait longer to become parents, many find that fertility issues arise. With these issues come stress and often trauma and grief. I work with individuals and couples as they navigate the fertility maze. I collaborate with several leading fertility clinics in California:

The complexity of the brain and the psychology of the mind are now a new field that talk to each other. I have a PhD in Neuroscience and a masters in Counseling Psychology which I apply and keep in perspective as I work with my clients. It becomes particularly important and useful when we work together to understand why you become “stuck”. I am able to help you understand how the brain works and processes information. Understanding how drugs and medication affect the brain is an area I'm well versed in. I also use my expertise to help parents understand the developing child’s brain.
